Another crazy day...
Today ended up being totally different from how I planned it. First of all, I woke up with a sore throat :(. I told my friend Becky that I would go and let her dog out part way through the day and play with her. Becky is out of town and her husband would be gone for a long time - tough for a puppy. Since I wasn't feeling well, I decided to go later in the day.
I went into the church office to hang out w/ whoever (students) showed up for lunch. We had a good time. We decided to go out and play some dodge ball. Well, wouldn't you know, I ended up getting hit in the eye. Let me explain, the ball came from the side, so my reflexes didn't kick in and the ball actually scraped my eyeball!!! I felt like such a loser. Jon was really concerned, so he made me go to the eye doctor. My eye is definately scratched and they put a lens on it as a bandage. They also put all kinds of drops in my eyes so I couldn't really see. It feels weird - I am blessed to not wear glasses or contacts, so the contact lens feels strange. I get it out tomorrow.
All of this made me incredibly late to let Kanga (Becky's dog) out, but she was a good girl and held it that whole time! Then I went home (since I coudln't really work because I couldn't see) and there was a message from a student. She is a freshmen named Alicia. She wanted to bring dinner over for us! It was so sweet of her! She even brought Breyer's Reese's Ice cream. Yummy! The coolest part is that I am still getting to know Alicia. You just never know how you might encourage another person - whether by making them a meal or remembering their name. My vision is slowly coming back which is a good, good thing. I guess I'll try to catch up on all my work tomorrow. It's amazing how spring break week can end up busier than a regular week!
